County Bridal Show Set for Saturday

by Jonathan Weaver

Engaged Armstrong County couples have coordinated their “big day” at the Armstrong County Bridal Show for 25 years, and will have their next opportunity this Saturday night.

Orchestrated by Bridal Reflections (of Kittanning) Owner Karen Zambotti the past 25 years, the event will feature 48 vendors offering photography, dessert and entertainment services for a couple’s special day at St. Mary’s Parish Hall in Kittanning from 6-8:30PM– with most of the vendors from Armstrong County, several even from Kittanning and Ford City.

Known for six years as the Armstrong County Bridal Show, more than 500 people are expected – including brides, grooms and members of the wedding party.

Two-and-a-half hours will be set aside for viewing tables – and punching their tickets for prizes - before the 9:30PM fashion show.

“We give away over $6,000 worth of prizes,” Zambotti said. “(Bridal Reflections) is giving away five free tuxedo rentals, and the grand prize is a wedding gown with all the alterations and $500 credit to be spent with one of the businesses that participated – worth $1,300.”

Zambotti, of East Franklin Township, herself recalled her wedding day nearly 34 years ago in 1981. She said the style of dresses have really changed since her dress with a high neck and long sleeves.

“Back detailing is really the thing on wedding gowns this year,” Zambotti said.

She said it’s not too late for brides to pick out a wedding dress for even weddings planned for this summer.

$5 tickets will be available at the door, with all proceeds above-and-beyond the cost donated to nonprofits Arts on the Allegheny, Downtown Kittanning Incorporated and Orphans of the Storm animal shelter.
