OBIT: Eleanor Lee (Rearick) McEntire (Rural Valley)

Eleanor Lee (Rearick) McEntire, 77 of Rural Valley died January 1, 2015.

Eleanor was born on March 12, 1937 to Harold D. and E. Bernadine (Logan) Rearick, both of whom predeceased her.

Eleanor was the 1955 valedictorian of Shannock Valley High School, and a 1956 graduate of Business Training College of Pittsburgh.

She retired on March 31, 1999 from People’s National Bank of Rural Valley where she had been an employee for 26 years.

Eleanor was the wife of Richard A. McEntire. They were married on Nov. 3, 1962.

She was a lifelong member of the Rural Valley United Methodist Church where she served in various offices and sand in the choir. She was also a member of the Sunny Travelers Club and the Sunny Majors Travelaires.

Eleanor enjoyed traveling, dining out, camping and book and Bible club. She loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Eleanor is survived by her husband - Richard; two sons: Shawn Allen and his wife Mary of Akron, Ohio and Kurt Rearick and his wife Becky of Dayton; daughter - Molly Ann Doerr and husband Alan of Templeton; six grandchildren: Derek, Stewart, Tyler, Emily, Jared and Joshua; two step-grandchildren: Matthew and Corey Doerr; two sisters: Mrs. Grant (Kay) Davidson and Mrs. Robert (Lynne) Caresani, both of Rural Valley; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family were received from 2-4 & 7-9PM on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home in Rural Valley.

Additional visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of funeral services will at 11 AM today – Monday, January 5, 2015 - at the Rural Valley United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Craig Lindahl will officiate.

Interment will be in the Rural Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Eleanor’s name to Rural Valley United Methodist Church, 819 Main St., Box 162 Rural Valley, PA 16249
