OBIT: George W. “Bill” Cupec (Kittanning)
George W. “Bill” Cupec, 87 of Kittanning, died Monday, December 15, 2014 in ACMH.
He was born March 24, 1927 in Vandergrift to Steven F. and France E. (Dynka) Cupec.
“Bill” retired from Wean United Foundry in Vandergrift.
He also served in the U.S. Navy with the Sea Bees during World War II.
“Bill” was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Kittanning.
He married Marjorie A. Mann on August 27, 1949 and they moved from Vandergrift to a farm in Kittanning Township in 1952.
“Bill” loved being with his family and friends, and enjoyed farming, bowling, Bingo, fishing and motorcycle riding.
“Bill” is survived by his five children: Diane Tressler, William (and Pam) Cupec, Carol (and Mark) Schaub, Sharon (and Bill) Erb and Debbie Cupec; brother, Harold “Sonny” Cupec; sister, Alice Hepler; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 64 years, Marjorie, on February 27, 2014; daughter, Linda Cupec; two brothers: John Cupec and Steve Cupec, Jr.; and sister, Ethel Klingensmith.
Friends will be received from 2PM tomorrow - Thursday, December 18, 2014 - until the time of services at 5PM at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.
The Rev. Douglas E. Dorula will officiate.
Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery in Vandergrift.
