OBIT: Joan Louise Beer (Kittanning Township)

Joan Louise Beer, 75, of Ford City, Kittanning Township, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at VNA Inpatient Hospice - Butler.

She was born on August 22, 1939 to C. Talmadge and Permilda Estelle (Schrecengost) Miller in Margaret, Pa.

She graduated from Elderton High School in 1957. Joan was a homemaker.

Joan was a member of United Rockville Lutheran Church.

Joan is survived by her husband, Alfred M. Beer - whom she married December 28, 1956; two sons: Boyd (Cathy) Beer and Kevin (Tammy) Beer, both of Kittanning; two brothers: Dale (Amelia) Miller and Paul (Edie) Miller, both of Kittanning; sister, Roxanne (Glenn) Krause of Kittanning; three granddaughters: Cheryl (Chris) Dunn, Nicole (William) Nixon and Kelsi Beer; grandson, Cody Beer; and four great-grandchildren: Allye, Curdis, Gavin and Adele.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Boyd Beer, Jr.; and an infant sister, Diana Miller.

Friends will be received from 5-8PM tomorrow – Thursday, October 30, 2014 – at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home in Rural Valley.

Funeral services will immediately follow at 8PM, with Rev. Craig Lindahl officiating.

Burial will take place in United Rockville Lutheran Cemetery.
