Woman Accused of Assaulting State Trooper, Stabbing Ex-Boyfriend

Last week, an Erie woman was taken into custody after being combative toward State Police in Kittanning, but this past weekend, her aggression continued.

August 18, members of the Pennsylvania State Police in Kittanning located McMahon at Croyle Cemetery in East Franklin Township at about 10:15PM. She appeared to have been injured and unconscious, but as State Police attempted to awaken her, she became “belligerent and combative,” according to the state police report, and kicked a trooper on his legs.

McMahon was taken into custody and charged with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor simple assault, resisting arrest and public drunkenness in the alleged incident.

She was held in the Armstrong County Jail before posting a $10,000 bond Wednesday, August 20, but her stay in prison won’t end there.

Sunday, McMahon allegedly cut Mark Shankle, Jr. -22 of Manor Township – on his arms shortly after midnight, and subsequently charged with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct for engaging in fighting, and a summary harassment charge.

During her second arraignment, she was again committed to the Armstrong County Jail by District Magisterial Judge Goldstrohm - but this time with a $40,000 bond.

McMahon’s first preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9AM September 5 before District Magisterial Judge Gary DeComo and 2:30PM October 1 before District Magisterial Judge James Owen.
