OBIT: John “Jack” Dunmire (Pattonville)

John “Jack” F. Dunmire, 87, of Ford City, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Saturday, August 16, 2014, in ACMH Hospital.

Born September 23, 1926, in Iselin, he was a son of the late James Walter and Laura Mabel (Hartman) Dunmire.

Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.

Mr. Dunmire retired from P.P.G. Indsutries, Ford City, in 1980, after 36 years of service. Having been involved in church activities for 70 years, he was founding member of the Adrian Assembly of God, now Cornerstone Assembly of God. He was also a member of Evangel Heights Assembly of God, Sarver, where he was an usher, a former board member, and belonged to the “Silver
Saints” senior club.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and lived to watch sports, both live and on TV. He also enjoyed flea marketing and gardening.

Jack is survived by his wife of 70 years, Josephine Melinda (Croyle) Dunmire; his son, Jack F. Dunmire and his significant other, Amy Schrag, of Manor Township; his daughter, Brenda Y. (Ronald) Taladay, of Manor Township; his grandchildren, Carla (John) Atherton, Matt (Toni) Taladay, Denise (Jasan) Hileman, John M. Dunmire and his fiancee, Donna Denardo, and Kaila
Miller; his great-grandchildren, Cody Atherton, Christopher Atherton, Cole Hileman, Camron Hileman, Ella Hileman, and Alena Taladay; a sister, Twila J. Anthony of Manor Township; a brother, James R. Dunmire of New Jersey; and a half-brother, Richard W. Hancock of Ford City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Paul Dunmire; a brother, Harry Dunmire; and three sisters, Lois Sirochman, Margie Sober, and Phyllis Croyle.

Friends will be welcomed from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2014, and from 9 AM until the time of service at 10 AM, Wednesday, August 20, 2014, in the Welch Funeral Home in Ford City, with the Reverend David Croyle officiating. Interment will follow in Johns Cemetery in Adrian.
