East Franklin Woman Made Threats with Mother, Police Say

An East Franklin Township woman was remanded to the Armstrong County Jail Monday morning after an altercation with her mother.

State Police in Kittanning took Cassandra Zeigler, 25, into custody along Lemmon Hollow Road after 1AM Monday after fighting with her mother.

District Magisterial Judge James Owen set Zeigler’s bail at $7,500 initially at Zeigler’s arraignment at 3AM that morning, but later reduced it to $2,500 per unsecured bond.

Zeigler is charged with three misdemeanor crimes (terroristic threats and two counts of simple assault) and summary harassment. She was released from prison Tuesday.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for early July.
