Habitat for Humanity Seeks Volunteers for Project
Armstrong Habitat for Humanity is calling for women (and men) to participate in a local “Women Build” project. Women Build , underwritten by Lowe’s, is a program of Habitat for Humanity International that empowers women to address the crisis of poverty housing by building and refurbishing homes with families in need.
Volunteers of all skill levels will be needed at two separate work sites: 1154 Orr Avenue, Kittanning; and 547 Locust Street, Leechburg, during the first two weekends of May.
While the shifts on Saturday, May 3 and Saturday, May 10, as well as Sunday, May 4 have an afternoon shift from 12:30-4:30PM, volunteering is also available from 8:30AM-12:30PM the two Saturdays.
Volunteers are invited to participate on one or more of the available dates, according to Women Build Chair Pam Struble.
“This is Armstrong Habitat’s first Women Build project. We are very excited about the encouragement and support it has generated from the community.” said Struble.
If interested, please reply to Elizabeth@ArmstrongHabitat.org or call Elizabeth at 724-545-4905 by Thursday, April 24. In the reply email, please include the days and times you would like to volunteer and at what location.
Armstrong HFH, an affiliate of HFH International, is a non-profit Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating poverty housing. Habitat for Humanity brings together people with resources and people in need to produce simple decent affordable houses. The houses are sold to those in need at no profit.
