Leprechaun Traps Made by Elementary Students

Madison Lukehart, (Gr. 6 ) daughter of Wendy Lukehart of Ford City, shows her leprechaun trap to Kiley Held, (Gr. 1) daughter of Amy and Chris Held of Kittanning. Also showing their leprechaun traps are sixth graders Isabella Forster (daughter of Lucas and Lizzee Forster of Leechburg), Seraphina Alden, (daughter of Rob and Lisa Alden of Freeport), and Julie Butz (daughter of Adrianna Butz of Ford City and Doyle Butz of Ford Cliff)

Sixth Graders at Divine Redeemer School demonstrated their Leprechaun Traps during an assembly on Monday, March 17, 2014. Students were required to create a Leprechaun Trap with at least one simple machine as their project for their unit on Simple Machines. Students used their creativity to tempt leprechauns as they added levers, inclined planes, pulleys, and wedges to their designs. No Leprechauns were caught as of Monday, March 17th!!
