OBIT: James A. Lenzi (formerly of Kittanning)
James A. Lenzi, 86, of Indiana, PA, passed on to live forever in Heaven early Tuesday morning, November 26, 2013 at Indian Haven Nursing Center.
He was born January 26, 1927 to the late Alphonso and Catherine (Avella) Lenzi in Kittanning, where he lived most of his life.
He was the owner-operator of Lenzi Dry Cleaners in Kittanning for many years. After that, he also worked for Adco, Inc. selling specialty chemical products to dry cleaning plants, traveling throughout various parts of the Eastern United States, doing so until he became medically disabled due to heart problems.
He liked to hunt, fish, and golf. He enjoyed watching movies, football, basketball, and Fox News on television.
He was very mechanical and inventive. He was the ultimate handyman.
He is survived by his sons: Al Lenzi of Kittanning, and Jock Lenzi and his wife Patricia (Bartram) Lenzi of Homer City; daughter: Karen (Lenzi) Claypool and her husband Ted of Kittanning; nine grandchildren: Babette Morda, Allison (Randy) Barrett, Ceciley (Andrew) Andryka, Teddy Claypool, Joy (Noel) Handran, Christa Lenzi, Josiah Lenzi, Monica (Josh) Truitt, and Aaron Lenzi; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Pauline (Foster) Lenzi whom he was married to for 61 years until she passed on to the glories of Heaven on January 10, 2008; father: Alphonso; mother: Catherine; brother: Lou; and sisters: Rose and Margaret.
He will be greatly missed by all those who loved and knew him.
Friends will be received today, Friday, November 29, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 from 10AM until the time of the funeral service at 11AM in the funeral home with the Reverend Charles King officiating.
Burial will take place in Lawn Haven Burial Estates near Worthington.
