OBIT: Rocco J. Bono (Kittanning)

Rocco J. Bono, 95 of Kittanning – formerly of Buffalo Valley – died Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at ACMH.

He was born April 1, 1918 to James and Mary (Trott) Bono.

Rocco retired from U.S. Steel Corp.

A 1956 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Rocco was a member of St. John’s Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville, and a life member of Buffalo Valley Sportsmen’s Club as well as the Kittanning Eagles.

He enjoyed playing baseball, bowling and horseshoes.

Rocco is survived by his three sons: James (Shirley) Bono of Butler, Edward (Diane) Bono of Indiana and Herman (Peggy) Bono of Gibsonia; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; two sisters: Delores Bono of Buffalo Valley and Frances (Andy) Abranovich of Kittanning; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rocco was a resident of Rivercliff Terrace for 16 years, where he received excellent and very comforting care.

Rocco was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Twila Bono in 2003; four sisters; and five brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM tomorrow –Thursday, October 17, 2013 – at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville.

Arrangements are handled by F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
