OBIT: David Penn (Ford City)

David Terry Penn, 68 of Ford City, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, December 11, 2012.

David was born August 19, 1944 to the late-John G. and Mabel P. (Hawley) Penn.

David was a U.S. Army veteran who served two tours of duty in Vietnam. After returning home in 1969, he went to work at Linde Air and then to PPG Industries in 1973 and remained there until its closure in 1993.

David enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping, and all things outdoors. After becoming disabled, he loved searching the Internet.

He is survived by his only daughter, Regina (John) Kelly of Worthington, whom he loved very much, and three grandchildren: Andrew Gilara and Mayson and Sidney Kelly.

David is also survived by three sisters: Carole (James) Mikula of Manorville, Cathy Penn of Ford City and Joann Haney of Kittanning; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older sister, Dianne Edwards in February and older brother, John Penn in April.

Friends will be received from 5-9PM tomorrow, Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Kittanning.

Additional visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of funeral services at 11AM Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the funeral home.

The Rev. Kent Commodore and Tony Roman will officiate.

Interment will be in Kittanning Cemetery.
