Vandergrift Man Violates Court Order, Jailed

A Vandergrift man is currently in Westmoreland County Jail on six warrants after he was found in violation of a protection-from-abuse order.

William Smith, 54, drove his 1988 Lincoln Continental into a Parks Township parking lot where Alison Smith, 49 of Ford City was present Thanksgiving weekend and stared at her before fleeing toward the Vandergrift Bridge.

Smith was held for two days in the Armstrong County Jail before being transferred.

Litigation is being pursued in the matter.
