Redskins Take Win Over the Bucks

The Armstrong Indians took the field on Saturday August 20 at Lancer Stadium to face the Deer Lakes Chiefs. The Armstrong Scouts began the day by playing the Deer Lakes Tomahawks. Since the Scouts are an instructional team, and scores are not counted. The two teams put forth a great game, and gave the fans a show to remember!

The Armstrong Redskins took the field next, facing the Deer Lakes Bucks. A quick Deer Lakes touchdown at the beginning of the game put the Redskins in the gutter. The Redskins were able to score before half time, making the score Deer Lakes 12, Redskins 7. After half time, the Redskins made a remarkable rebound and scored 20 points in the third quarter. The final score was 27 – 12, in favor of the Redskins.

Following the Redskins game, the Armstrong Braves played the Deer Lakes Braves. A Deer Lakes touchdown in the beginning of the first quarter put the score at Deer Lakes 6, Armstrong 0. The game was extremely close, and with Armstrong making an outstanding last drive with just over a minute left in the game; the game was tied at 6 apiece after an Armstrong touchdown. The game ended with a 6-6 tie.

Next on the Indians War Path is the Kiski Lancers, which will be played this Saturday, August 27th
