Vandergrift Man Injured in Crash

Pennsylvania State Police troopers responded to a one vehicle crash along State Route 85 in Cowanshannock Township, on April 17 at 12:50AM. The vehicle was found to be on its roof in a cornfield. The driver, David Alan Shaffer Jr., 18, of Vandergrift had already been transported to Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. Police interviewed Shaffer at the hospital and was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. A blood sample was taken and sent for analysis. Shaffer was then transported to to Pittsburgh via ambulance for injuries sustained in the crash.
