Driver Jailed for Endangering Passengers
Jerod Ritchey
Jared T. Ritchey, 26, of Ford City was driving a vehicle in the wee hours of Saturday morning with two female passengers. After consuming alcohol, Ritchey was driving in a manner that placed the passengers in danger of serious bodily injury or death. After the passengers demanded him to stop, Ritchey stopped the vehicle and one passenger ran to a nearby house for safety. Ritchey dragged the other passenger across a gravel driveway into a field where she was subjected to physical contact causing bodily injury. When the victim got back into the vehicle, she was again subjected to physical contact again. Ritchey then began to drive away with the victim in the vehicle and made statements to the victim that he would harm her. The victim was later able to gain control of the vehicle and drive to safety.
Ritchey was taken into custody and arraigned before District Magisterial Judge Gary DeComo. He was placed in the Armstrong County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bail.
