Elderton Girls Advance to WPIAL Volleyball Playoffs

The girls’ volleyball team at Elderton Junior-Senior High School won last Thursday night over Greensburg Central Catholic. The win sets up the team to enter into the WPIAL Section 1A Championship playoffs.
“We picked up where we left off,” Coach Dan Spencer said. “We had seven section championships in a row before Elderton closed, and we got back in the saddle again.”
Spencer said many of the girls who played Thursday night also were on the team while at West Shamokin and won Section Championship there. “It was nice to be able to come back and win it on our own and continue the streak.”
The WPIAL will assign playoff matches as early as Monday evening.
