OBIT: Virginia D. York (formerly of Kittanning)

Virginia D. York, 88, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Virginia was formerly of Kittanning.

Born July 25, 1922, she was the daughter of Doyle and Ginevra (Tomlinson) Shick.

Mrs. York was a member of the Grace Brethren Church of West Kittanning and the Kittanning Christian Women’s Club.

She leaves behind two daughters, Rosanna Balzano and her husband, Dante (Jerry), of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Betty Jones of Greenville, S.C.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Phyllis Walker, of Kittanning.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Victor York.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, at Bauer Funeral Home at 515 N. McKean Street in Kittanning.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 23, at the funeral home with the Pastor Ron Jurke officiating.

Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.
