OBIT: Jeffery “Cookie” Coward (Freeport)
Jeffery L. “Cookie” Coward, 51, of East Brady passed away Friday, July 30th, 2010 peacefully at his home. Jeffery is formally of Freeport.
Jeffery was born in Natrona Heights, PA on May 13, 1959, to the late William John and Anna C. (Bailey) Coward. He worked as a cook for different establishments in the Valley, most recently with Kings Family restaurant Buffalo Twp. He had also worked for a number of years with Pullman Standard in Butler and for DuCo Ceramics in Saxonburg.
Cookie was a social member of the Freeport VFW and the Freeport Eagles. He enjoyed reading, creating and playing war games, cooking, playing Santa at Christmas, playing bingo with the people from his apartment complex and spending time with his brothers and sisters and all his nieces and nephews.
Jeffery is survived by his two sisters: Pam (Ralph) Eberle of Natrona Heights and Joyce (Gregory) Shoop of Freeport. His three brothers: David W. (Debbie) Coward of Freeport, Jerry B. (Linda) Coward of Buffalo Twp. and John E. Coward of Freeport.
Cookie is also survived by his 11 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are being received on Sunday August 1st. from 12-2 & 5-7 PM in the Redmond Funeral Home in Freeport. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 am on Monday, August 2nd, with Rev. Edd Myers of Freeport United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be held in Freeport Cemetery.
