OBIT: Susan Marie Golab
Susan Marie Golab, age 65, of Kittanning, PA, died, Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital.
She was born March 12, 1945, in Kittanning, PA, to Floyd C. ‘Whitey’ and Annetta F. ‘Netcha’ (Young) Pierce.
Susan was a 1963 graduate of Kittanning High School and was of the Catholic Faith. She worked as a teacher’s aide with special needs children for the Armstrong School District. Susan enjoyed camping in Cook Forest, collecting angels, and especially spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Michael F. Golab whom she married August 14, 1965; three sons, Brian Golab and wife Donna of Kittanning, Todd Golab and wife Linda of Sarver, and Michael S. “Freddy” Golab of Kittanning; four grandchildren, Jami Golab, Jacob Golab, Nicholas Golab, and Danielle Golab; a sister, Linda Smith and husband Robert of Kittanning; a nephew, Josh Smith; a great-nephew, Cameron Smith; and her long-haired Dachshund, Rascal.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Saturday, April 17, 2010 and 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Sunday, April 18, 2010, at the Bauer Funeral Home, 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 19, 2010, at the Christ Prince of Peace Church, 718 4th Avenue, Ford City, PA, with Rev. Bryan Summers officiating.
Interment will follow at St. Francis of Paola Cemetery, Cadogan, Armstrong Co., PA.
